Church of God of Prophecy

The Goulds Church of God of Prophecy, now Triumphant Church of God of Prophecy, Inc. started out as a mission work in September 1983 by Bishop Simeon Downs & Evangelist Martha Downs. Services were held from house to house. As the mission grew Bishop Simeon Downs Sr found a location on south west 216th street in Goulds Florida. The building was called "the little house." The mission organized by District #1 Overseer, The late Bishop Herman E. Dean of the Church of God of Prophecy. The organized became, Goulds Church of God of Prophecy in November of 1983 with 16 members.

As the months went by the church grew and in the winter of 1984 they had to start looking for a bigger building to accommodate the growth and needs if the ministry. The pastor and members got together and decided that they could build their own building. The church then purchase a property at 2145 SW 112th ave in Goulds, Florida and began building the now existing church headed up by Bishop Simeon L Downs Sr. The people had a mind to work and some of the women worked alongside the men with the determination to complete the building by summer of 1985. The building was completed  in August of 1985 and the new church building was dedicated in October of 1985 DEBT FREE. 

The Triumphant church of God of Prophecy, Inc. ministry continue to grow spiritually and numerically and we thank or Heavenly Father for continuing to breathe on us. In 2010 Bishop Downs along with the members of the church broke ground for the Phase 2 of the project. With prayers, fasting, faith in God and the hard work of the church led by Bishop Downs they are determined to complete this building project debt free. 

From the "Little House" on South West 216th street to this elegant edifice on South West 112th Avenue in Goulds, What a mighty God we serve. Bishop Simeon L Downs Sr, founder, Senior Pastor, a man of great faith led us then and still leading us today from small but humble beginnings. Indeed "Little is much when God is in it."
